Regular Season Round 15: Benfica - Boa Viagem 60-74

The game between third ranked Benfica (9-4) and fourth ranked Boa Viagem (10-5) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Benfica was defeated by Boa Viagem in Lisboa 74-60. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Benfica. Boa Viagem forced 19 Benfica turnovers. It was a great evening for American swingman Alexis Govan (178-93, college: W.Kentucky) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Her fellow American import center Daina Grazulis (190, college: Davenport) helped adding 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Boa Viagem players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was international point guard Ines Viana (166-94) with 23 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Taylor Ford (183-94, college: Syracuse) scored 7 points and 14 rebounds. Benfica's coach Andre Cardoso rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Boa Viagem have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Benfica at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Boa Viagem are looking forward to face Ovarense (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Benfica will play against CAB Madeira (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
