Second Stage Round 8: Telsiai - Perlas-MRU 62-69

The most important game in the last round took place in Telsiu between third ranked Telsiai (21-12) and sixth ranked Perlas-MRU (18-15) on Saturday night. Telsiai was defeated by Perlas-MRU in a tough game at home 62-69. Telsiai trailed 39-38 at halftime, rallying from a 26-10 deficit at the end of first quarter to trim the gap. Perlas-MRU dominated on the defensive end, holding Telsiai to just 7 points in third quarter. Power forward Lukas Kvedaravicius (206-97) orchestrated the victory by scoring 11 points and 8 rebounds. Belarusian forward Yauhen Massalski (204-99) contributed with 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Perlas-MRU's coach Arvydas Gronskis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Ignas Razutis (185-87) replied with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and power forward Mindaugas Norkus (200-85) added 14 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Telsiai. Perlas-MRU moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Zalgiris II. Telsiai at the other side keeps the third position with 12 games lost. Perlas-MRU is looking forward to face higher ranked Rasai (#4) in Raseiniai in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Telsiai will play on the road against Vytis in Sakiai and is hoping to win this game.
