Regular Season Round 21: EWE Baskets - Bremerhaven 85-70

Date: February 4, 2017
Not a big story in a game in Oldenburg where 13th ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (6-12) was defeated by sixth ranked EWE Baskets (12-8) 85-70 on Saturday. EWE Baskets made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. The game was dominated by American players. Swingman Rickey Paulding (196-82, college: Missouri) stepped up and scored 25 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and guard Chris Kramer (191-88, college: Purdue) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Four EWE Baskets players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Quincy Diggs (198-90, college: Akron, agency: Mansfield and Associates) with 24 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Harper Kamp (203-88, college: California) scored 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven's coach rotated twelve players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for EWE Baskets. They maintain sixth place with 12-8 record. Loser Eisbaeren Bremerhaven dropped to the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. EWE Baskets will meet BG Goettingen (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will play against BBC Bayreuth and hope to secure a win.
