Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Delikatesas and 11th ranked Mazeikiai had identical 12-20 record. But Mazeikiai was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Joniskis 96-90 on Saturday night. The guests trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 6 points. Center Nerijus Barauskas (207-92) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 18 rebounds. Forward Darius Griskenas (194-84) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Swingman Kostas Jonuska (195-92) replied with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Justinas Olechnavicius (194-94, agency: Court Side) added 17 points and 8 assists in the effort for Mazeikiai. Five Mazeikiai players scored in double figures. Delikatesas maintains tenth position with 13-20 record. Loser Mazeikiai dropped to the twelfth place with 21 games lost. Delikatesas will face bottom-ranked Petrochema (#14) in Jonava in the next round. Mazeikiai will play at home against KTU and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
