Very predictable result when second ranked Galatasaray (13-3) rolled over 12th ranked Girne Univ. (4-12) in Istanbul 89-68. They outrebounded Girne Univ. 42-19 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Moriah Jefferson (170-94, college: Connecticut) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and the former international guard Isil Alben (170-86, agency: 1x1 Sports) who added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. Galatasaray's coach Marina Maljkovic felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Serbian forward Adrijana Knezevic (183-87) responded with 21 points and 5 assists and the former international point guard Ozge Yavas (170-91) scored 7 points and 5 assists. Galatasaray have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-3 record behind leader Fenerbahce. Girne Univ. at the other side keeps the twelfth place with 12 games lost. Galatasaray will play against Botas (#9) in Adana in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
