There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Hatay (8-8) beat at home higher ranked Istanbul Uni (8-8) 66-52. They outrebounded Istanbul Uni 47-30 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 19 rebounds and Kazakhstan-Belarusian forward Katerina Snytsina (188-85) who added 25 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side Latvian power forward Aija Putnina (191-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Jordan Hooper (188-92, college: Nebraska) scored 12 points. Hatay moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Istanbul Uni. Hatay will play against bottom-ranked Samsun (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Istanbul Uni will play against Osmaniye (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
