Regular Season Round 18: Oldenburg - Bernau 66-69

The most interesting game of round 18 was only three-point a home defeat of 3rd ranked Oldenburg (12-6) to second ranked SSV Lok Bernau (13-5) 69-66. It ended the two-game winning streak of Oldenburg. It was a key game for the top position in North. SSV Lok Bernau forced 22 Oldenburg turnovers. American guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: IPFW, agency: Dynamics Global Management) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Tim Schneider (208-97) chipped in 11 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international Philip Zwiener (201-85) with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Croatian power forward Marko Bacak (210-95) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Oldenburg's coach Artur Gacaev rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. SSV Lok Bernau keeps a position of North leader, which they share with Art.Dragons. Oldenburg at the other side dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Iserlohn. SSV Lok Bernau is looking forward to face Recklinghausen (#12) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Oldenburg will play against SC Rist Wedel (#9) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
