Regular Season Round 16: Fenerbahce - Samsun 106-63

KBSL top team - Fenerbahce (14-2) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Samsun (3-14) in Istanbul 106-63. Fenerbahce dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Samsun's 34. They outrebounded Samsun 42-18 including a 29-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fenerbahce looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Samsun's players. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Esra Ural (198-91, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. International point guard Birsel Vardarli (175-84) contributed with 5 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. Latvian point guard Elina Babkina (173-89) replied with 19 points and international center Hulya Coklar (188-95, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 15 points in the effort for Samsun. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-2 record. Samsun lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Fenerbahce are looking forward to face Besiktas (#5) in Istanbul in the next round. Samsun will play at home against Hatay (#7) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
