Eighth-ranked TH Wohnbau Angels (6-10) made lots of trouble for second ranked TSV 1880 Wasserburg (14-2) in Noerdlingen on Sunday. The visitors from Wasserburg managed to secure only three-point victory 64-61. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 18-4 charge, which allowed them to win the game. TSV 1880 Wasserburg dominated on the defensive end, holding TH Wohnbau Angels to just 4 points in fourth quarter. Swedish guard Nathalie Fontaine (188-93, college: Ball St.) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Sheylani Peddy (170-88, college: Temple, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 15 points. Four TSV 1880 Wasserburg players scored in double figures. Canadian forward Kim Pierre-Louis (183-93, college: Massachusetts) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Jennifer Schlott (168-91, college: Utah St., agency: LBM Management) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. TSV 1880 Wasserburg have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Keltern. TH Wohnbau Angels at the other side dropped to the ninth place with ten games lost. TSV 1880 Wasserburg is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (#12) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. TH Wohnbau Angels will play against BC Pharmaserv Marburg and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
