Regular Season Round 16: Osnabruck SC - Goettingen 62-41

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Goettingen (13-3) against fourth ranked Osnabruck SC (11-5) on Sunday night. Visiting Goettingen was crushed by Osnabruck SC in Osnabruck 62-41. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Goettingen. The game without a history. Osnabruck SC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Goettingen to just 5 points in third quarter and to 14 points in second half. Osnabruck SC held Goettingen to an opponent 16.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 35.3 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Goettingen 47-26 including a 36-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American guard N'Dea Bryant (183-94, college: N.Carolina) who scored that evening 14 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and Hungarian center Viktoria Vincze (189-87) supported her with 8 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds by Trinidad and Tobago center Verdine Warner (196-92, college: Shaw) did not help to save the game for Goettingen. Guard Jennifer Crowder (164-96) added 10 points and 4 steals for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Osnabruck SC maintains fourth position in North with 11-5 record, which they share with Neuss. Goettingen at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. Osnabruck SC will play against Braunschweig (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Goettingen will play against Krofdorf/Gleib. (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
