No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Galatasaray (11-6) beat 10th ranked Tofas (7-10) in Istanbul 82-73 on Monday. Galatasaray looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. International Sinan Guler (192-83, college: Carroll, MT, agency: 1x1 Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. American-Czech swingman Blake Schilb (201-83, college: Loyola, IL) contributed with 14 points and 8 assists for the winners. Five Galatasaray players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Kaya Peker (207-80, agency: Court Side) answered with 20 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian point guard Vasilije Micic (196-94, agency: BeoBasket) added 17 points and 5 assists in the effort for Tofas. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Galatasaray. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Darussafaka. Newly promoted Tofas keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Galatasaray will face higher ranked Banvit (#4) in Balikesir in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tofas will play at home against Demir IBB (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
