Regular Season Round 18: Kibirkstis - Ukmerges 74-50

The game with biggest result difference took place in Vilnius. Local Kibirkstis (14-4) outscored 7th ranked Ukmerges (1-17) 74-50. It looked good early as Ukmerges took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kibirkstis had a 26-6 second period charge getting the lead and Ukmerges was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 50-74. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ukmerges to just 6 points in second quarter. Kibirkstis dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Ukmerges' 34. Kibirkstis forced 23 Ukmerges turnovers and outrebounded them 47-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for international center Laura Juskaite (187-97) who led her team to a victory with 16 points and 7 rebounds. International center Daugile Sarauskaite (196-96) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Monika Petrauskaite (182-92) replied with 17 points and 8 rebounds and Aurelija Putramentaite (180-95) added 9 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Ukmerges. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kibirkstis maintains second position with 14-4 record having just two points less than leader Suduva. Ukmerges lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 17 lost games. Kibirkstis will play against Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Ukmerges will play against Fortuna (#4) in Klaipeda to get more than just one victory in their record.
