Perlas-MRU (19-15) outlasted Rasai (20-13) in overtime by seven points 103-96 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rasai. The hosts were tied at the half and again at the end of regular time. But they managed to win overtime period 18-11. Perlas-MRU dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Rasai's 34. They outrebounded Rasai 45-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Perlas-MRU made 7 blocks. Forward Arnas Berucka (195-97) stepped up and scored 28 points for the winners and guard Karolis Giedraitis (193-98) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Perlas-MRU's coach Arvydas Gronskis used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Giedrius Stankevicius (205-96) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Evaldas Aniulis (190-92) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 assists. Four Perlas-MRU and five Rasai players scored in double figures. Perlas-MRU maintains fifth place with 19-15 record. Rasai at the other side keeps the fourth position with 13 games lost. Perlas-MRU will have a break next round. Rasai will play at home against Vytis (#7) and hope to win that game.
