Sixth-ranked Zaporizhya (9-15) made lots of trouble for second ranked Budivelnyk (19-4) in Zaporozhye on Friday. The visitors from Kyiv managed to secure only two-point victory 77-75. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 18-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Zaporizhya helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American point guard Henry Dugat (183-87, college: Baylor) who scored 26 points and 7 assists. Naturalized Lithuanian center Michailis Anisimovas (214-84) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Budivelnyk's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Maks Adam Konate (202-91, agency: Alti Sport) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and the former international point guard Pavlo Burenko (184-90) added 14 points respectively. Four Zaporizhya players scored in double figures. Budivelnyk have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 19-4 record behind leader Khimik. Zaporizhya lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Mykolaiv. Budivelnyk are looking forward to face Cherkasy (#5) on the road in the next round. Zaporizhya will play against Cherkasy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
