Regular Season Round 23: Neptunas - Juventus 70-79

The most shocking disappointment of round 23 in the LKL was a home defeat of 4th placed Neptunas (12-11) to fifth ranked Juventus (13-10) 79-70 in the game for the fourth place. It ended the four-game winning streak of Neptunas. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 26-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Juventus dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Neptunas' 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for power forward Vaidas Cepukaitis (207-89, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Guard Vytautas Sulskis (200-88, college: Youngstown St., agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Guard Martynas Mazeika (192-85, agency: Interperformances) responded with 15 points and 4 assists and American power forward Jerai Grant (203-89, college: Clemson) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Juventus have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Neptunas at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Vytautas. Juventus are looking forward to face Dzukija (#8) in Alytus in the next round. Neptunas will play at home against P.Zvaigzdes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
