Second Stage Round 10: Telsiai - Silute 67-94

The most important game in the last round took place in Telsiu between third ranked Telsiai (22-13) and sixth ranked Silute (18-17) on Saturday night. Telsiai was crushed by Silute at home 94-67. The game was mostly controlled by Silute. Telsiai managed to win third quarter 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Silute shot 63.8 percent from the field. Silute outrebounded Telsiai 36-25 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 60.9 percentage. American guard Brian Wanamaker (185-89, college: Texas Wesleyan) fired 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Modestas Zaunieriunas (185-94) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Wanamaker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Silute players scored in double figures. Silute's coach Robertas Kuncaitis felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Ignas Razutis (185-87) produced 18 points and power forward Mindaugas Norkus (200-85) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Silute maintains sixth position with 18-17 record. Telsiai at the other side keeps the third place with 13 games lost. Silute will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Telsiai will play on the road against Rasai in Raseiniai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
