Regular Season Round 22: Chemnitz - Crailsheim 87-96

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Chemnitz. Second ranked Crailsheim Merlins faced 4th ranked Chemnitz. Guests from Crailsheim (18-5) defeated host Chemnitz (14-7) 96-87. Crailsheim Merlins made 25-of-33 charity shots (75.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Chemnitz turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Nimrod Hilliard-IV (183-93, college: N.C.Central) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 4 steals. The other American import swingman Kevin Tiggs (196-84, college: E.Tenn.St.) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. American power forward Joe Lawson (201-92, college: Indianapolis, agency: Interperformances) replied with 24 points and 8 rebounds and guard Malte Ziegenhagen (198-91, college: Kaiser) added 21 points in the effort for Chemnitz. Five Crailsheim Merlins and four Chemnitz players scored in double figures. Chemnitz's coach Rodrigo Pastore let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Crailsheim Merlins maintains second position with 18-5 record having just one point less than leader MBC. Chemnitz at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. Crailsheim Merlins will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Chemnitz will play on the road against White Wings (#6) in Hanau and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
