Regular Season Round 18: Stevnsgade - Lemvig 72-70

The most exciting game of round 18 in the Dameligaen took place in Stevnsgade. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers Lemvig (7-7) to fifth ranked Stevnsgade (6-10) 72-70 on Saturday evening. Lemvig was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 21-16 charge of Stevnsgade, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Lemvig outrebounded Stevnsgade 43-27 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Ida Pretzmann (178-90, college: TCU) who scored 31 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Cherelle Moore (183-93, college: Hartford) chipped in 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Kayla Bernsen (190, college: W.Washington) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Erin McDonnell (185-93, college: Harvard) added 19 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Stevnsgade maintains fifth position with 6-10 record. Lemvig lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with seven games lost. Stevnsgade will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lemvig will play at home against the league's leader Virum (#1) and is hoping to win this game.
