A very interesting game took place in Ankara. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 10th ranked Bandirma Kir. (11-12) to ninth ranked Turk Telekom (12-11) 81-80 in the game for the ninth place. Turk Telekom players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American power forward Darryl Monroe (201-86, college: George Mason, agency: BeoBasket) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) contributed with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. Nigerian center Tonye Jekiri (213-94, college: Miami, FL) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and point guard Ismail-Cem Ulusoy (183-96, agency: Octagon Europe) added 8 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists in the effort for Bandirma Kir.Turk Telekom maintains ninth place with 12-11 record. Bandirma Kir. at the other side keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. Turk Telekom's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Eskisehir Basket in Edirne and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bandirma Kir. will play on the road against Afyon Bld (#4) in Afyonkarahisar and hope to win that game.
