There was an upset when higher ranked Elazig (14-10) lost at home to twelfth ranked Ferko Ilgaz (11-13) 68-63 on Saturday. It was a good game for center Basak Altunbey (189-96) who led her team to a victory with 16 points and 5 rebounds. American center Merissa Quick (190-93, college: Emporia St.) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Ferko Ilgaz's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Sharon Houston (191-88, college: IU Northwest, agency: Gamble Sports Management) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds and Sehernaz Cidal (183-95) added 14 points in the effort for Elazig. Ferko Ilgaz moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Urla BLD. Elazig lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Ferko Ilgaz will face higher ranked Cankaya (#4) in Ankara in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
