Regular Season Round 23: P.Zvaigzdes - Nevezis 89-88

Ninth-ranked Nevezis (5-18) gave a tough game to seventh ranked P.Zvaigzdes (10-13) in Pasvalys on Saturday. P.Zvaigzdes managed to secure only one-point victory 89-88. However their fans expected easier game. Nevezis was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. P.Zvaigzdes looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Derrick Low (191-86, college: Washington St., agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 assists. The former international power forward Egidijus Dimsa (204-85) helped adding 17 points and 5 rebounds. Ignas Vaitkus (196-93, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 20 points and 4 assists and center Karolis Petrukonis (212-87, college: Clemson) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four P.Zvaigzdes and five Nevezis players scored in double figures. P.Zvaigzdes maintains seventh place with 10-13 record. Nevezis lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 18 games lost. P.Zvaigzdes will face higher ranked Neptunas (#5) in Klaipeda in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nevezis will play at home against Vytautas (#6) and hope to win that game.
