TED Kolejliler has finally registered their first victory this season after 17 consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Usak Sportlif (5-13) 90-84 on Saturday. TED Kolejliler made 29-of-35 free shots (82.9 percent) during the game. TED Kolejliler outrebounded Usak Sportlif 44-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. 27 personal fouls committed by Usak Sportlif helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Ian Hummer (201-90, college: Princeton) chipped in 19 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American D'Angelo Harrison (193, college: St.John's, agency: Three Eye Sports) with 32 points and 8 assists and Latvian Rolands Freimanis (208-88, agency: Alti Sport) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. TED Kolejliler maintains sixteenth position with 1-17 record. It was Usak Sportlif's third loss in a row. They keep the fourteenth place with 13 games lost. TED Kolejliler are looking forward to face higher ranked Istanbul BBSK (#13) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Usak Sportlif will play against the league's second-placed Anadolu Efes where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
