Second Stage Round 4: Sangalhos - Guifoes 76-72

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Sangalhos and 13th ranked Guifoes had identical 2-1 record. This time Sangalhos used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Guifoes 76-72 on Saturday night. Sangalhos made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Andre Duarte (178-81) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 4 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) and swingman Emanuel Silva (188-79) who added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Sangalhos players scored in double figures. At the losing side Goncalo Madureira (182-98) responded with 22 points and forward Ricardo Alpuim (191-88) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Sangalhos (3-1) moved-up to tenth place in Places 9-16, which they share with Ginasio. Loser Guifoes dropped to the twelfth position with two games lost. Sangalhos will face bottom-ranked Academia (#16) in Lisboa in the next round where they are favorite. Guifoes will play against Sanjoanense (#15) and hope to win that game.
