Regular Season Round 21: Craiova - Targu Mures 91-72

We should mention about the upset which took place in Craiova, where 7th ranked Targu Mures (9-10) were outleveled in a road game by tenth ranked Craiova (5-14) 91-72. It looked good early as Targu Mures took a 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Craiova had a 30-15 second period charge getting the lead and Targu Mures were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-91. Craiova players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Targu Mures' players. American guard Darius Hargrove (195-82, college: Virginia Union) nailed 25 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import swingman Jamar Abrams (201-89, college: E.Carolina, agency: Inception Sports) accounted for 21 points. Montenegrin point guard Goran Martinic (187-87) came up with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Latvian forward Ernests Kalve (200-87, agency: HMS) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Targu Mures in the defeat. Four Targu Mures players scored in double figures. Targu Mures' coach Barnabas Szaszgaspar tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Craiova maintains tenth place with 5-14 record. Targu Mures lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with ten games lost. Craiova's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Steaua CSM in Bucuresti and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
