The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel as it allowed them to take a leadership position in North. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel defeated 7th ranked SG BBZ Opladen at home 72-55. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of SG BBZ Opladen. The game was mostly controlled by Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel. SG BBZ Opladen managed to win second period 22-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel dominated on the defensive end, holding SG BBZ Opladen to just 7 points in first quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to SG BBZ Opladen's 26. Canadian guard Jill Stratton (180-91) produced 14 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Nicola Happel (164-92) added 16 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (15-2) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. SG BBZ Opladen at the other side keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with Gruenberg. SG BBZ Opladen will play next round against TuSLi Berlin trying to get back on the winning streak.
