Regular Season Round 18: Azovmash - Dnipro-2 62-83

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Azovmash (14-8) against fourth ranked Dnipro-2 (10-12) on Sunday night. Host Azovmash was crushed by Dnipro-2 in Mariupol 83-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Azovmash. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-62. Dnipro-2 forced 22 Azovmash turnovers. Forward Olexandr Tarasenko (199-96) had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Yusuf Sanon (190-99) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Dnipro-2 players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Kirilo Zuev (193-93) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 20 rebounds and point guard Mark Bodnar (190-98) scored 21 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dnipro-2 moved-up to third place. Loser Azovmash keeps the second position with eight games lost. Dnipro-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Azovmash will play against SumDU in Sumy and hope to secure a win.
