Second Stage Round 11: Rasai - Telsiai 85-79

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Telsiai (22-14) against fourth ranked Rasai (22-14) on Thursday night. Visiting Telsiai was defeated by Rasai in a tough game in Raseiniai 79-85. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-18. But Telsiai won second period 25-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rasai forced 19 Telsiai turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for guard Sarunas Vingelis (191-89) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 4 assists. Point guard Tomas Galeckas (183-94) accounted for 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Laurynas Kaveckis (190-90) came up with 24 points and 4 steals and power forward Mindaugas Norkus (200-85) added 22 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Telsiai in the defeat. Rasai moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Telsiai. Rasai will meet league's second-placed Nafta-Uni. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Telsiai will have a break next round.
