Regular Season Round 23: Hanau - Chemnitz 62-73

Date: February 17, 2017
The game in Hanau was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Chemnitz (15-7) played at the court of 6th ranked White Wings (12-11). Chemnitz defeated White Wings 73-62 on Friday. Chemnitz dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to White Wings' 22. American players dominated also this game. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Joe Lawson (201-92, college: Indianapolis, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Virgil Matthews (190-83, college: Montana) accounted for 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Lawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Kruize Pinkins (203-93, college: USF) came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Brian Sullivan (183-93, college: Davidson) added 12 points respectively for White Wings in the defeat. White Wings' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chemnitz maintains fourth place with 15-7 record. White Wings lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Trier and Oettinger R.. Chemnitz will meet at home Hamburg (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. White Wings will play against Gladiators (#8) in Trier and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
