Regular Season Round 23: Kirchheim - Nuernberg 72-75

The game between third ranked Kirchheim Knights (17-6) and twelfth ranked Nuernberg (8-14) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Kirchheim Knights were edged by Nuernberg in a tough game in Kirchheim 72-75. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Kirchheim Knights. Nuernberg made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Kirchheim Knights turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American players dominated the game. Forward Andre Calvin (201-85, college: Drake) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Diante Watkins (174-90, college: Robert Morris) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Nuernberg players scored in double figures. Seth Hinrichs (201-93, college: Lafayette, agency: Duran International) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Jonathon Williams (198-90, college: Wagner) added 19 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Kirchheim Knights. Despite that victory Nuernberg went down to thirteenth position due to points difference. Kirchheim Knights at the other side keep the third place with six games lost. Nuernberg are looking forward to face higher ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kirchheim Knights will play against ETB Wohnbau and are hoping to win this game.
