Regular Season Round 19: Lemvig - Virum 62-72

An interesting game for Virum (14-2) which played road game in Lemvig against 4th placed Lemvig (7-8). First ranked Virum managed to get a 10-point victory 72-62. The game without a history. Virum led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Virum forced 19 Lemvig turnovers and had a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for center Valerie Driscoll (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of her seven free throws). Guard Gillian Abshire (179-93, college: Quinnipiac) helped adding 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side forward Erin McDonnell (185-93, college: Harvard) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and Sarah DeShone (, college: Ferris St.) scored 15 points. The victory was the third consecutive win for Virum. Defending champion maintains first place with 14-2 record. Lemvig lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fourth position with eight games lost. Virum will play against bottom-ranked Aabyhoj (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lemvig will play against SISU in Copenhagen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
