Regular Season Round 24: Eskisehir Basket - Turk Telekom 94-90

Date: February 18, 2017
There was no surprise in Edirne where 9th ranked Turk Telekom (12-12) was defeated by second ranked Eskisehir Basket (20-4) 94-90. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Eskisehir Basket players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The winners were led by American swingman Sean Marshall (198-85, college: Boston Coll.) who scored that evening 22 points and 4 assists and guard Yunus Sonsirma (192-92) supported him with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Eskisehir Basket's coach Brad Greenberg allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 20 points, 7 rebounds and 14 assists by American point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) did not help to save the game for Turk Telekom. His fellow American import power forward Darryl Monroe (201-86, college: George Mason, agency: BeoBasket) added 24 points and 8 rebounds. Four Eskisehir Basket and five Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. Eskisehir Basket keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Sakarya BSB. Turk Telekom at the other side keeps the ninth place with 12 games lost. Eskisehir Basket's next round opponent will be Yalova Bld (#12) on the road which should be an easy win for them. Turk Telekom will play against Afyon Bld and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the BSL just one year after relegation.
