Regular Season Round 20: Fraport SKY II - Elchingen 82-71

There was an upset when higher ranked Elchingen (12-7) lost to tenth ranked Fraport Skyliners II (7-12) in Frankfurt 71-82 on Saturday. Fraport Skyliners II forced 19 Elchingen turnovers and had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Elchingen's players. Niklas Kiel (207-97, agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. American guard Travis Thompson (185-91, college: Alaska-Anch.) contributed with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Five Fraport Skyliners II players scored in double figures. Forward Adrian Didovic (205-94) replied with 14 points and Filmore Beck (192-91) added 13 points in the effort for Elchingen. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fraport Skyliners II moved-up to ninth place in South. Loser Elchingen dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Fraport Skyliners II will face higher ranked BG Karlsruhe (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Elchingen will play against Dragons Rhoendorf and hope to win that game.
