Regular Season Round 20: Iserlohn - Itzehoe 79-78
Date: February 18, 2017
Seventh-ranked Itzehoe (9-11) was very close to win a game against third ranked Iserlohn (13-7) on Saturday. Iserlohn managed to secure only one-point victory 79-78. However their fans expected much easier game. Iserlohn outrebounded Itzehoe 44-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American-Ivorian forward Moussa Kone (203-93, college: Hofstra, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and American guard Terrell Harris (191-93, college: Georgia Coll.) supported him with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Four Iserlohn players scored in double figures. Iserlohn's coach Matthias Grothe used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 24 points and 14 rebounds by American forward Kaimyn Pruitt (203-90, college: Adams St.) did not help to save the game for Itzehoe. Forward Frederik Henningsen (198-88) added 22 points and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) for the guests. Iserlohn maintains third position in North with 13-7 record having just two points less than leader Bernau, which they share with Oldenburg. Loser Itzehoe keeps the seventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Rostock. Iserlohn will meet SC Rist Wedel (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Itzehoe will play against the league's second-placed Artland Dragons and hope to secure a win.
