Bottom-ranked Ukmerges managed to get a second victory, breaking the five-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time newly promoted Ukmerges won against sixth-ranked Siauliai-Univ. 61-56. Siauliai-Univ. was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was Aurelija Putramentaite (180-95) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 20 rebounds. Forward Jolanta Marmiene (181-79) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Ligita Tamutyte (176-99) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Urte Bukauskaite (180-94) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Ukmerges maintains seventh position with 2-18 record. Siauliai-Univ. lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 14 games lost. Ukmerges will meet higher ranked Aistes-LSU (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Siauliai-Univ. will play against Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas and hope to secure a win.
