Regular Season Round 19: Amager - Horsholm 60-68

An interesting game for Horsholm (12-3) which played road game in Kastrup against 3rd placed Amager (8-7). Second ranked Horsholm managed to get a 8-point victory 68-60. Amager was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Horsholm dominated on the defensive end, holding Amager to just 6 points in second quarter. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Horsholm forced 22 Amager turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian forward Ivana Jovanovic (185-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Icelandic guard Sandra-Lind Thrastardottir (171-96) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Catharina Jensen (182-89) answered with 24 points and 9 rebounds and forward Maria Dinesen (171-90) added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Amager. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Horsholm have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 12-3 record having just three points less than leader Virum. Amager lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with seven games lost. Horsholm will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Amager will play at home against Stevnsgade and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
