Regular Season Round 18: Braunschweig - Goettingen 51-74

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Goettingen (15-3) crushed on the road 11th ranked Braunschweig (3-15) 74-51 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Goettingen. Braunschweig was better in fourth quarter 17-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for Czech guard Katarina Flasarova (171-85) who led her team to a victory with 15 points and 5 assists. American swingman Alissa Pierce (177-86) contributed with 8 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American guard Felicia Barron (170-90, college: Quinnipiac) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and her fellow American import forward Alayshia Hunter (185-93, college: La-Monroe) added 8 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Braunschweig. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Goettingen maintains second position in North with 15-3 record having just eight point less than leader Wolfenbuettel. Loser Braunschweig keeps the eleventh place with 15 games lost. Goettingen will face Baskets Grunberg (#6) in Gruenberg in the next round. Braunschweig will play on the road against TG Neuss (#4) and hope to win that game.
