The game in Porto was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Estoril Basket (3-1) played at the court of 6th ranked Vasco (1-4). Estoril Basket managed to secure a 6-point victory 63-57 on Sunday. Estoril Basket outrebounded Vasco 48-35 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Andre Occhialini (193-93) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and forward Sergio Lugo Santos (198-92) chipped in 7 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized Angolan forward Paulo Ferreira (187-80) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and guard Joao Veludo (177-92) scored 10 points. Vasco's coach Hugo Salgado rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Estoril Basket moved-up to third place in Places 1-8, which they share with Terceira. Loser Vasco keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Esgueira and Academico FC. Estoril Basket will meet at home Esgueira / Oli (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Vasco will play against Benfica B in Lisboa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
