Regular Season Round 19: AD Vagos - Olivais 61-85

The game between Top Four teams took place in Vagos. 4th placed host AD Vagos (11-6) were smashed by second ranked Olivais (13-3) 85-61. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of AD Vagos. Olivais dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to AD Vagos' 30. Olivais forced 19 AD Vagos turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for Nigerian-American guard Ezinne Kalu (173-92, college: Savannah St.) who led her team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Naturalized Guinea-Bissau forward Carsidalia Silva (180-92) helped adding 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four Olivais players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward EeTisha Riddle (191-85, college: Missouri) responded with 30 points and 8 rebounds (made all of her fourteen free throws !!!) and the other American import guard Brandie Hoskins (175-85) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olivais have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. AD Vagos at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. Olivais are looking forward to face league's second-placed Boa Viagem in Angra Heroismo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. AD Vagos will play on the road against Benfica in Lisboa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
