A very close game took place in Noerdlingen between ChemCats Chemnitz and TH Wohnbau Angels. Eleventh ranked ChemCats Chemnitz (6-12) got a very close victory on the road over 9th ranked TH Wohnbau Angels (6-12). ChemCats Chemnitz managed to escape with a 1-point win 92-91 in the game for the ninth place. ChemCats Chemnitz made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Maegan Conwright (173-92, college: Florida St.) who scored 45 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. The other American import forward Merritt Hempe (190-94, college: Georgia) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian forward Kim Pierre-Louis (183-93, college: Massachusetts) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 18 rebounds and Serbian guard Aleksandra Racic (181-90) added 23 points respectively. Five TH Wohnbau Angels players scored in double figures. ChemCats Chemnitz moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Freiburg and Donau-Ries. TH Wohnbau Angels lost fourth consecutive game. ChemCats Chemnitz will meet at home bottom-ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (#12) in the next round. TH Wohnbau Angels will play against Hannover and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
