An interesting game took place in Giessen where higher ranked Giessen 46ers (10-12) were upset on its own court by thirteenth ranked Walter Tigers (9-16) 83-76. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Center Gary McGhee (209-88, college: Pittsburgh) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Point guard Jared Jordan (187-84, college: Marist) contributed with 16 points and 7 assists for the winners. Forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and forward Justin Sears (203-94, college: Yale) added 19 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Giessen 46ers. Four Giessen 46ers players scored in double figures. Giessen 46ers' coach Denis Wucherer rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Walter Tigers. They moved-up to twelfth place. Giessen 46ers at the other side keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. Walter Tigers' next round opponent will be higher ranked Telekom Baskets (#6) in Bonn and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
