Regular Season Round 19: Neuss - Braunschweig 69-51

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked TG Neuss (13-6) beat at home 11th ranked Braunschweig (3-16) 69-51 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by TG Neuss. Braunschweig was better in second period 17-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TG Neuss forced 32 Braunschweig turnovers. It was a great evening for power forward Jana Heinrich (188-86, college: San Diego St.) who led her team to a victory scoring 11 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. American guard Dara Taylor (173-91, college: Penn St.) helped adding 11 points and 7 assists. TG Neuss' coach Janina Pils used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side forward Morgana Soehn (182-0) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds and American guard Felicia Barron (170-90, college: Quinnipiac) scored 18 points and 4 assists. TG Neuss maintains fourth place in North with 13-6 record. Braunschweig lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 16 games lost. TG Neuss will face league's second-placed Goettingen at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Braunschweig will play against the league's leader Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (#1) and hope to win that game.
