Regular Season Round 21: Bochum - Wolfenbuettel 68-75

There was an upset in Bochum where higher ranked AstroStars (11-10) were defeated by tenth ranked Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (9-12) 75-68 on Saturday. American center Khalil Kelley (203-91, college: Pacific) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and point guard Constantin Ebert (184-96) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists. Four Herzoege Wolfenbuettel players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Michael Haucke (210-85) with 17 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized American point guard Gary Johnson (188-82, college: Cent.Florida) scored 17 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Herzoege Wolfenbuettel. They moved-up to eighth place in North, which they share with Rist Wedel and Rostock. AstroStars lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with ten games lost. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel will face league's leader SSV Lok Bernau on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AstroStars will play against the league's second-placed Oldenburg (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
