Second Stage Round 14: Delikatesas - Palanga 91-93

A very close game took place in Joniskis between Palanga and Delikatesas. Ninth ranked Palanga (19-19) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked Delikatesas (15-23). Palanga managed to escape with a 2-point win 93-91 on Saturday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 29-21. But Delikatesas won second period 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Delikatesas 45-25 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Raijon Kelly (190-93, college: Angelo St.) notched 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and guard Zygimantas Simonis (192-95) supported him with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Even 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by swingman Zilvinas Petraitis (194-88) did not help to save the game for Delikatesas. Tadas Pazera (190-98) added 22 points for the hosts. Five Palanga and four Delikatesas players scored in double figures. Palanga have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Silute. Loser Delikatesas keeps the tenth position with 23 games lost. They share it with Mazeikiai.
