Very expected game when 17th ranked SC Rasta Vechta (1-21) was defeated at home by tenth ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (10-12) 92-74 on Saturday. EnBW Ludwigsburg outrebounded SC Rasta Vechta 41-30 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. The former international swingman Chad Toppert (199-85, college: N.Mexico) helped adding 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four EnBW Ludwigsburg players scored in double figures. American Frank Gaines (191-90, college: IPFW) responded with 29 points and 5 rebounds and DR Congolese-American swingman Moses Ehambe (198-86, college: ORU) scored 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. EnBW Ludwigsburg moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Giessen 46ers and Jena. SC Rasta Vechta lost their sixteenth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the seventeenth position with 21 games lost. EnBW Ludwigsburg will face Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#11) in Frankfurt in the next round. SC Rasta Vechta will play on the road against the league's leader ratiopharm Ulm (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
