There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Mainz (7-14) was defeated at home by thirteenth ranked Stuttgart (7-14) 103-94 on Saturday. Stuttgart dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Mainz's 42. They outrebounded Mainz 38-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Guard Marco Schlafke (187-82) fired 30 points for the winners. Forward Jonas Leidel (195-87) chipped in 25 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Christian Zander (188-85) produced 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Maximilian Befort (199-94) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Stuttgart moved-up to tenth place in South-West, which they share with Tuebingen II and Mainz. Mainz lost fourth consecutive game. Stuttgart will face higher ranked Fellbach (#9) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
