Second Stage Round 14: Zalgiris II - KTU 83-61

The game between eighth ranked Zalgiris II (23-15) and 12th ranked KTU (13-25) in Kaunas ended with biggest points difference. Zalgiris II outscored guests from Kaunas 83-61. The game was mostly controlled by Zalgiris II. KTU was better in second period 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Zalgiris II outrebounded KTU 29-18 including a 20-8 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Zalgiris II especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. The best player for the winners was power forward Gytis Masiulis (206-98) who scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Kristupas Zemaitis (192-96) chipped in 13 points and 7 assists. Paulius Knyza (194-91) produced 18 points and 6 rebounds and Jaunius Davniukas (197-95) added 15 points respectively for the guests. KTU's coach Vytautas Pliauga gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Zalgiris II have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Rasai and Telsiai. KTU lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 25 games lost.
