Regular Season Round 19: Wolfenbuettel - Osnabruck SC 63-67

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (16-3) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Osnabruck SC (14-5) 67-63. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-18. But Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel won second period 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for Montenegrin forward Milica Milosev (186-93, agency: BeoBasket) who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points and 9 rebounds. Nigerian guard Promise Amukamara (173-93, college: Arizona St.) helped adding 8 points and 6 assists. Osnabruck SC's coach Mario Zurkowski used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American forward Alli Gloyd (185-92, college: Arizona) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Alysha Womack (170-91, college: Monmouth) scored 20 points. Osnabruck SC have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain third place in North with 14-5 record having just seven point less than leader Wolfenbuettel. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Goettingen. Osnabruck SC are looking forward to face TuSLi Berlin (#7) in Lichterfelde in the next round. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel will play on the road against Braunschweig (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
