Regular Season Round 24: Dzukija - Juventus 74-76

Eighth-ranked Dzukija (6-18) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Juventus (14-10) in Alytus on Sunday. The visitors from Utena managed to secure only two-point victory 76-74. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 13 points after three quarters before their 26-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was power forward Vaidas Cepukaitis (207-89, agency: Interperformances) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Vytautas Sulskis (200-88, college: Youngstown St., agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Spanish guard Alejandro Hernandez (189-90) who recorded 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Gediminas Navickas (180-84) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Dzukija players scored in double figures. Juventus have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 14-10 record. Dzukija lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 18 games lost. Juventus are looking forward to face higher ranked Lietuvos rytas (#3) in Vilnius in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Dzukija will play at home against the league's second-placed Lietkabelis (#2) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
