A very close game took place in Samsun between Samsun and Mersin MBK. Thirteenth ranked Samsun (5-15) got a very close home victory over 12th ranked Mersin MBK (4-14). Samsun managed to escape with a 3-point win 62-59 in the fight for the twelfth place. Samsun forced 19 Mersin MBK turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Glory Johnson (191-90, college: Tennessee) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Montenegrin-American swingman Eshaya Murphy (181-85, college: USC) accounted for 17 points and 4 assists for the winning side. American power forward Rebekkah Brunson (191-81, college: Georgetown, agency: LBM Management) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and American-Ukrainian D'Andra Moss (178-88, college: VCU, agency: LBM Management) added 9 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Mersin MBK in the defeat. Samsun moved-up to twelfth place. Mersin MBK lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Samsun will meet higher ranked Galatasaray (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mersin MBK will play against Besiktas (#5) and hope to secure a win.
