Regular Season Round 15: Blyskavky - Tavriyska Zirka 77-49

Bottom-ranked Tavriyska Zivka (0-17) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 77-49 loss to sixth ranked Blyskavky (11-9) in Vinnytsia. The game without a history. Blyskavky led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Blyskavky forced 30 Tavriyska Zivka turnovers. It was a good game for the former international power forward Tetyana Yurkevicius (187-95) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Larysa Stadnik (185-92) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Blyskavky's coach Olexandr Pidlushnyak felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Daria Shtura (174-94) answered with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Margarita Glebova added 6 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Tavriyska Zivka. Blyskavky moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Dynamo-NPU. Tavriyska Zivka lost their seventeenth game in a row. They still close the standings. Blyskavky will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tavriyska Zivka will play at home against the league's leader Tim-Scuf (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
